DECREE No. 0001 On the Establishment of the CourtGiven this twelfth day of June, in the First Year of the Court Let it be known throughout the hedgerows, and to all persons of good standing therein, that there is hereby established THE COURT OF HEDGEHOGS, convened in perpetuity for the governance of the hedgerow, the ordering of its seasons and ceremonies, the hearing of petitions, the faithful keeping of the Royal Record, and, where occasion warrants, the issuance of proclamations. The Court shall recognize no sorrowful business. Petitions of gloom, where received, shall be returned to sender with our regrets and a small quantity of dried fruit. The offices of the Court are hereby constituted: Her Majesty the Queen of the Hedgehogs, sovereign of the hedgerow, in whose name all decrees go forth; the Lord Chamberlain, who arranges the affairs of the Court and answers correspondence of state; and the Keeper of the Royal Seal, without whose wax no decree may be considered official.
